Features

  • Version

    Powder-coated aluminium in black

Ceiling rose and spot are powder-coated aluminium in black. Against a dark ceiling the luminaire is barely noticeable. The white version has the same dimensions, the same GU10 socket and the same mounting. 5-year warranty.

  • Installation

Surface mounted on the ceiling, Ø60 mm ceiling rose

You screw the Ø60 mm rose straight onto the ceiling, on a solid or a hollow substrate; no recess or cut-out is needed. The tube below it measures Ø42 mm and the height is 157 mm. The spot turns and tilts, so you aim the beam after mounting. Fixings and the manual are in the box.

  • Tube

Tube Ø42 mm, comes off without tools

The tube pulls off its spot. That is how you change the GU10 lamp without taking the luminaire apart, and the spot stays aimed where you set it. The same move swaps the tube for one in brushed brass, brushed bronze or gun metal — the separate Tuup Slim Tube, one per spot, not supplied.

Application

Round surface spotlight, one GU10 spot, Ø60 mm rose, black

The Tuup Slim is the simplest shape in the range: no bar, one adjustable spot on a Ø60 mm round ceiling rose. The rose is screwed to the ceiling and the height is 157 mm; nothing has to be routed out of the ceiling.

The luminaire connects directly to 230V mains; no driver is involved. IP20 and Class I: dry indoor spaces. The spot has a GU10 socket for a 35 mm LED lamp, known in the trade as MR11; output, colour temperature and beam angle come from that lamp and not from the luminaire. You order the lamp separately.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we are regularly asked about this fixture and its variants.

Can the Tuup Slim replace an existing ceiling spot?

Usually yes. The round rose measures Ø60 mm and is screwed onto the ceiling, so nothing has to be routed out and the existing outlet stays where it is. What you need is 230V at that point and a flat piece of ceiling of Ø60 mm. If a recessed spot was there before, its cut-out stays visible behind the rose when it is larger than Ø60 mm.

How high does the Tuup Slim sit below the ceiling?

157 mm from the ceiling plane. The round rose against the ceiling measures Ø60 mm and the tube below it Ø42 mm. If you want flatter, a recessed spot is the answer; if you want to move the light point, the Tuup Slim 1 on a 175 mm bar.

What lamp does this luminaire take?

One GU10 lamp, ordered separately: an LED spot with a 35 mm reflector — the size the trade calls MR11.

Can the finish be changed later?

The rose stays white or black — that is the version you order. The tube does come off: they are sold separately as the Tuup Slim Tube in brushed brass, brushed bronze and gun metal, and there is a gold insert for the light opening. Allow one; those parts are not in the box.

Does the black version give less light?

No. The light comes from the GU10 lamps you choose yourself, and those are not supplied. The colour of the powder coating does not change the output — black and white give the same figures with the same lamps. What black does is make the Ø60 mm rose less noticeable against a dark ceiling.
